About Me
Heyo! I’m Sam, a 28 year old, single lady, living in Big Sky Country, Billings, Montana. I have been overweight since age…4. Yup, 4 years old.
I joined Weight Watchers when I was 20, and over the course of 4-5 years lost about 90 pounds. After I graduated from college I started my chosen profession as a CPA. In which, I was miserable. Over the year and a half I worked in public accounting I put back on 30 of the pounds I lost. After moving over to private industry I got back on the weight loss wagon.
I have since taken off the 30 pounds plus another 20, totaling about 110 pounds lost. While I love the Weight Watchers program, and truly believe in it, I am currently calorie counting through My Fitness Pal.
I have always been active; I played volleyball, basketball, and was a thrower on the track team as a kid - all while being obese. I continued being active as I began losing weight, and started the Couch to 5K program after I’d lost about 30 pounds. I continued getting stronger and faster, running a myriad of races the past few years. On St. Patrick’s Day 2012 I ran my first half marathon in 2:08. I ran my fastest 5K this spring, as well, in 26:30. I’m currently working out with a trainer doing a heavy lifting routine and focusing on losing body fat and inches. I still run 3-4 days a week because I truly fell in love with it. I’d love to do a bigger half marathon in the next year. Preferably at sea level where I can run like the wind!
I’m still working on losing another 20 pounds, but my true focus is on measurements and body fat percentage. I’m finding the scale is a big, fat, liar right now.
